who we are

Spetses is a small island in the Saronic Gulf, the furthest from Athens, located very close to the mainland, just 2.5 km from the Peloponnese coast. The island is about 27 km and the permanent population is about 3,500, but of course this number increases dramatically during the Greek Easter, July – August and during the Armata festival in September.
The old port and Dapia, a tourist and commercial center where the heart of the island's entertainment beats, are the trademarks of the city of Spetses. An island with a long maritime tradition, it is famous for its significant contribution to the War of Independence of 1821. Take a romantic trip around the island in horse-drawn carriages and admire the grand mansions that adorn the island's narrow cobbled streets.

Cars are prohibited in the towns of Spetses. You can go around the island very comfortably with a 50cc motorcycle in about 2 hours. There are bike rental shops in town as well as e-bike rental shops. There are 2 bus lines on the island.

The first bus departs from the beach of Agios Mamas which travels southeast, with the final destination being the beach of Agia Paraskevi on the south side of the island.
Kayaks are traditional small wooden fishing boats. They have been used in recent decades to transport tourists to all the organized beaches of the island.
The other bus departs from Bouboulina square and travels in a south-west direction, with the final destination being Vrellos beach.
Buggys are a very traditional mode of transportation in Spetses. They are ideal for sightseeing tours of the island.
The most common option is to travel by sea. Spetses can be reached by Dolphin from the port of Piraeus or from Hydra, Aegina and Poros. Another option is to travel by car (or by bus, with the Prefectural Government bus) to Costa Peloponnese and take a ferry from there to Spetses (the ferry journey takes about 15 minutes). Or there is the option of renting a car at the airport and driving yourself to Costa where you leave the car and take a boat to the island.
